DIA linguistics contract for SAIC

MCLEAN, Va., May 25 (UPI) — Linguistic, operational, translation and management services in support of the U.S. National Media Exploitation Center are to be provided by SAIC.

The Virginia company said the contract for services it received from the Defense Intelligence Agency is a single award with a one-year base performance period and four one-year options.

If all options are exercised, the award would be worth about $33 million.

«We are proud of our track record as one of the largest language service providers to the defense, intelligence, and law enforcement agencies, and look forward to providing the NMEC with high-level technical translations in support of the DIA,» said Larry Hill, senior vice president and business unit general manager of Science Applications International Corp.

SAIC said its services will include translating written, electronic and multimedia material to and from English and a foreign language; editing; database administration; and providing operations support, such as managing contractors and functions.
